What We Believe

The Bible was written by man, divinely inspired by God, and is without error. All scripture is true and trustworthy. It reveals the standard by which God judges us, as well as, the standard by which we must live our lives.

There is only One living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. He is infinite in holiness and in all other ways perfect. He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, and all wise. His perfect knowledge includes all things past, present, and future. We owe Him all of our love, reverence, and obedience. He is the triune God, revealing Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, with each having His own individual attributes yet without separation in character, essence, or being.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. He took upon Himself human flesh, yet was without sin. His sacrificial, substitutionary death on the cross made provision to free us from the bondage of sin. He was raised from the dead in a glorified body and is now ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, where He makes intercession for us. Jesus is the One Mediator who is fully God and fully man, in whose Person we are reconciled to the Father. He will return in power and glory, at a time known only by the Father, to bring judgement to the world and complete His mission of redemption on the earth.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and fully Divine. He inspired holy men of old to write the scriptures. He enables man to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls everyone to the Savior, and effects renewal/rebirth. He develops Christian character, brings comfort to believers, and gives the spiritual gifts used in order to serve God. He seals the believer until the day our faith becomes sight. His presence in the Christian is the guarantee that God will bring the believer to live in heaven for all eternity.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” ~ John 3:16-18 ESV

“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ~ John 14:6 ESV
